Orange County DJ

Welcome to Orange County DJ. Here’s where you can find out all about hiring a DJ for your Orange County wedding, event, party or convention. You will also learn about some of the fascinating venues and vendors available in this beautiful, semi-tropic area.

Orange County is an awesome destination for special occasions. The beaches alone are unlike anywhere else and you can’t beat those California sunsets! If you’re planning to do a wedding, you will find some of the prettiest beach venues, such as the Laguna Cliffs Marriott in Dana Point. The Balboa Inn in Newport Beach is a really nice spot. This venue has a great upstair walkway that serves perfectly for a small wedding ceremony. Your DJ can set up right there and easily mic your officiant. And you don’t want to oversee the luxurious resorts on the 8 mile strip of Huntington Beach. Also known as “Surf City”, Huntington Beach offers wonderful sunset views and fun in the sun.

An Orange County DJ will also be quite familiar with the many great country clubs in the area. A few that we would highly recommend might be Costa Mesa Country Club. Their 2 banquet halls are upstairs in the clubhouse overlooking the beautiful view of the golf course. Setting up a DJ system outside. There’s a really pretty country club in Anaheim called Dad Miller. Their clubhouse for banquets and weddings is called the Green Room. Highly recommended. In Tustin, there is the Tustin Ranch Golf Club, which has a very nice facility for weddings. Any of these fine venues are “DJ ready” and will be able to accommodate what your DJ would require.

There are some very awesome restaurants that do a fine job in catering to weddings which are conducive to professional DJ entertainment, including the Summit House in Fullerton, PJs Abbey in Orange and Westminster Manor in Westminster.

Orange County DJs can be seen working at other such facilities as the Arboretum in Fullerton. Such a pretty setting there among a nature trail loaded with beautiful foliage, trees and wildlife. If you’re really into a German Octoberfest (any time of the year), Old Town in Huntington Beach can be a blast. They have a gorgeous olde style chapel for the ceremony and you can have your beer, sausage and sauerkraut or many other delicacies for your reception banquet. They can easily accommodate a professional DJ and Emcee.

So, you have many choices in Orange County. Throughout this website, you’ll find lots of great ideas, venues and vendors that with your chosen DJ can be a perfect match for you on your special day.

Wedding at Casa Romantica

Posted by Orange County DJ on Aug 29, 2010
Did a wonderful wedding last night at Casa Romantica in San Clemente. This was a referral from Stephanie Fordyce who’s wedding I did some time back… thank you Stephanie!
The beautiful couple who was married yesterday was Kelly and Erik Woolman. Their first dance song was “My Best Friend” by Tim McGraw. The father/daughter dance was “My Little Girl” also by T. McGraw. The mother/son dance was “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.
The party went up until 10:00 sharp (town curfew). We did the traditional cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter removal and the honeymoon dance with shots of tequila.
Kelly was absolutely radient. One of the most beautiful brides I’ve every seen! I would like to wish the couple a fantistic life together… Don

Hiring a DJ

Posted by Orange County DJ on Aug 25, 2010

If you’re planning a party out, why not hire a DJ. DJ’s can be a great investment to keep your event rolling. You can pick out your favorite music, have it perfectly orchestrated to suit the mood… just try that with your ipod. Plus a good DJ can emcee and keep your party alive watching the pulse of every moment.

Here’s a scenario a DJ might experience that you’ll be thankful you’ve hired a DJ…

The dance floor is dead. Ugghh. You thought for sure everyone would like to hear Beyonce “Single Ladies” you had cued up on your mobile device. You knew for sure the place was going to light up light a Christmas tree at the first of December. Not this time. Yikes!

Now if you had a Pro DJ, he or she might simply have 3 other songs cued up 1) a slow one, 2) a hip-hop and 3) a country swing. Your DJ notices a lot of couple in the room who don’t want to be out there with everyone staring them down (at least not yet). DJ hits the slow song. Good choice. In less than 20 seconds the dance floor is packed with loving couples. Maybe we should have another slow one lined up in the next cue, just in case we need the double whammy.

Okay you ipod jocks out there… how are YOU going to handle it?

I’m just getting setup using Posterous for my DJ web sites, blogs and social media. I used ping.fm before, but feel that Posterous is the way to go!
